Food Inspirations

What I'm making today.

Burrito!!!

Easy, quick and delicious meal.
You can use beef, beef-pork, chicken or turkey mince (my favourite...).
Just add:
Some beans - you favourite: red kidneys (essential!!), black beans, butter beans, white beans or Jamaican mixed beans.
Peppers: green, orange, red, yellow, turkinsh, chillies scotch bonnet - anything you like!!
Onions: red or yellow - doesn't matter, just chopped it and add it.
Garlic - loads of garlic!!
Tomatoes: fresh, canned, chopped..
Sweetcorn - if you like, but not necessary..
Seasoning: salt, pepper, sweet pepper powder - loads of it -  (essential!) a bit of cumin  (essential!), chilli powder, cinnamon, oregano, mixed herbs.
Chopped it as you like it -bog or small pieces.
Add a little bit of olive oil and put everything on a big pan or pot, put some music & dance, stir from time to time, taste, add more garlic and more chilli if you like....
Yep :  that's how you make chilli con carne - the best dish in the world!

Now you are ready to make the best burritos in the world.

Choose TORTILLA

The best homemade tortillas!

Flour tortillas

Corn tortillas

Wheat tortillas

 Or simply buy ready tortillas.

Now you just have to prapere your favourite sides:

AVOCADO!

Simply sliced fresh avocados or you can roast it a bit.

Or gucamole - homemade is the best (it's just avocado purée with sour cream, garlic and seasoning) but you can always buy in grocery shop.

GRATED CHEESE

Just pick up your favourite

FRESH CUCUMBER

LEAF

My choice is rocket or corn salad, sometimes baby spinach.

SOUR CREAM

SALSA
Not necessary if you chilli is very rich in tomatoes & peppers but some people can life without their salsa on burrito :D

(onion, lime juice, ripe tomatoes, chillies - depending on taste, a bit of coriander, pepper, salt)

Some of us  use add a RICE.
I don't, i think it's to stuffy and to rich with flour tortillas so i just skip it.

Get ready with some proper HOT PEPPER SAUCE ready next to your plate for extra hotness!! That's my favourite ones (but I'll have separate post about hot pepper sauces soon..)
Now you ready to make the wraps!! Heat up tortillas on pan or oven.
Spread sour cream, cheese, add some guacamole and chilli con carne.

You can just hand roll:

Or you can toast it like panini and don't get messy:

If you on diet:
Use chicken or turkey meat or make veggie version, skip the tortillas and stuffed your chilli carne into peppers, onions, mushrooms aubergines, chicory, butternut squash, avocado, courgettes, add all the sides on top and bake in the oven for 10-15mins in 200 degrees.

Or.... or.... if you don't care about calories you can make

CHILLI CON CARNE LASAGNE!!!

Yep yep, buy some lasagne sheets, make some béchamel, or buy white sauce and bake this masterpiece in 20min in 200 degrees. Oh yeah...
